Summary

"You are safe from all abilities. The 1st time you are nominated, you lose your ability."

The Prince is invincible...right up until they are nominated.

  • The following ability affects are blocked by the Prince ability:
    • Cannot cause them to die.
    • Cannot make them drunk or poisoned.
    • Cannot turn them evil.
    • Cannot make them suffer any effects of madness.
  • When a harmful ability targets the Prince, the Prince is unaffected and no harmful reminder tokens are placed. If the Prince is nominated and loses his ability, previously attempted harmful abilities are still not in effect.

Abilities that don't harm the Prince can still affect them, such as changing them into a new character or providing them information.

How to Run

When an ability would harm the Prince, that ability does not take affect.

The first time any player nominates the Prince, the Prince loses their ability—put the Prince's NO ABILITY reminder token by the Prince token.

Examples

At night, the Vigormortis attacks the Prince. The Prince does not die.

At night, the Cerenovus chooses the Prince to be "mad" about being the Nymph. The Prince does not wake.

The Swiper is "mad" about being the Prince. The Prince is not poisoned and the Swiper does not gain the Prince ability.

At night, the Witch chooses the Prince, but the Prince does not get the CURSED reminder token. The Princess nominates the Prince, who loses their ability. The Prince nominates the Princess, but does not die.

At night, the Nightwatchman chooses the Prince. The Prince learns that player is the Nightwatchman.

The Golem nominates the Prince, the Prince loses their ability and dies.

Tips & Tricks

  • You are stop being safe when they are nominated, so bluff something powerful to draw the evil team's attacks.
  • Tell a few players who you trust that you are the Prince, so that they don't get you nominated.
  • The evil team will eventually notice their abilities don't work on you, and nominate you to stop you from being protected.
  • When a player nominates you they are likely to be evil taking away your ability.
  • If a harmful ability would affect you, it will just fail. You may never know how many times you were protected.
  • Once you lose your ability, tell the town what happened.
  • If you lose your ability early, keep it secret so the evil team may think a Prince is still in play.

Bluffing as the Prince

When bluffing as the Prince, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

  • The Prince would never wake at night. You would never learn if you were targeted by an evil ability.
  • Don't double claim anyone until you have been nominated, a real Prince would never be mad.
  • The Prince has a good reason to survive at night, which you can use to explain your longevity as other players die. This makes it a great bluff for a Minion in particular.
  • Come out to a few players in private early on in the game, so that when you eventually reveal you have some backup that you're not just coming out with this claim out of nowhere.
  • You (or your Demon) can choose to kill an already dead player at night. This will give the illusion that no death actually occurred, allowing you to claim that you were targeted instead.
  • The Prince is a fantastic fallback if another bluff doesn't work out. Coming out on the final day as the Prince who was "in hiding" can alleviate suspicion that you may have come under.
  • Be careful bluffing as the Prince as a Demon, once you are nominated, the town may no longer think they should keep you around.
  • As a good player, bluffing as the Prince can get the evil team to nominate you, which may show their hand as evil.
