Summary

"Both your alive neighbors (not including Travellers) are drunk."

The Hedonist disables their neighbours, both good and bad player abilities.

  • The neighbours are drunk as long as they and the Hedonist are alive.
  • A drunk player has no ability, but the Storyteller pretends they do. They do not affect the game in any real way. However, to keep up the illusion that the drunk player is not drunk, the Storyteller wakes them at the appropriate time and goes through the motions as if they were not poisoned. If their ability gives them information, the Storyteller may give them false information.
  • If a drunk player uses a "once per game" ability while drunk, they cannot use their ability again.

How to Run

While preparing the first night, the two non-Traveller players neighboring the Hedonist become drunk - mark them with DRUNK reminders.

If the Hedonist turns into a different character, or if a new player becomes the Hedonist, the new neighbors of the Hedonist become drunk, and the old neighbors become sober - move the Hedonist’s DRUNK reminders immediately if needed.

Examples

At the start of the game, the No Dashii neighbors a Town Crier and a Snake Charmer. They are both drunk. A few days later, they are both dead, and the closest alive neighbors to the Hedonist are an drunk Clockmaker and a drunk Barber.
