Forger
Spoiler Alert: This is a secret character: read ahead at your own peril.
Summary
"You start knowing how many Outsiders are in play. They are drunk, even if you are dead. [-? to +? Outsiders]"
The Forger prevents Outsiders from harming their own team, but makes them harder to count.
- On the first night, the Blacksmith learns exactly how many Outsiders there are in total. It does not learn which characters the Outsiders are.
- Any number of Outsiders might be in play.
How to Run
While setting up the game, before putting the character tokens in the bag, you may exchange any number of Townsfolk and Outsider tokens.
All outsiders are drunk - mark them with the DRUNK reminders. The Blacksmith does not lose this ability when dead.
Tips & Tricks
- Announce that you are the Blacksmith as soon as the game starts, so the Outsiders can stop worrying about their abilities.
- Wait to tell the town you are the Blacksmith until other characters have come out as Outsiders, so the town will feel good about killing them.
- Tell Outsiders that they are Drunk privately, so they feel safe coming out and you don't get needlessly executed.
- If the Widow is in play, get an Outsider executed to test their ability. If you are poisoned, the rest of the Townsfolk information is probably true.
Bluffing as the Blacksmith
When bluffing as the Blacksmith, there are a few things you should keep in mind:
- The Blacksmith is an easy bluff to make, but it can often get you executed. After all, your ability still works while you are dead.
- Secretly talk to Outsiders and let them know they are drunk. If they are executed and their ability still works, you may be next for execution.
