Summary

"Each day, you may publicly challenge a player to banjo duel and play roshambo: the loser is drunk until dawn. If only 2 players live, your team wins."

The Banjoist tries to disable the evil team or Outsiders. If they can hide from the Demon and not get executed on the final day, they win.

  • Much like the Psychopath, the Banjoist can openly duel players during the day by playing roshambo.
  • Much like the Slayer, anyone can perform a banjo duel, but only duels initiated by the Banjoist have any effect.
  • If the Banjoist is alone with the Demon, their team wins!

Avoid resurecting the Banjoist on the last night. It's cruel to the Shabaloth.

How to Run

During the day, allow any player to declare a banjo duel. If the initiator is the Banjoist, the loser is DRUNK; nothing happens on a tie.

Allow players to banjo duel the Psychopath before they can kill anyone.

Examples

The Banjoist duels with the Hermit, who purposely loses the duel. The town executes the Hermit, which avoids further disruption.

The Banjoist duels with the Psychopath and loses. The Psychopath kills the Banjoist.

The Banjoist duels with the Shabaloth and wins. That night, no one is killed by the Demon.

With 3 players alive at night, the Shabaloth kills the Fisherman first. The Banjoist wins, as they are alone with the Demon.

Tips & Tricks

  • The Banjoist can be a fun character to draw, everyone loves to play the banjo!
  • Try to duel harmful Outsiders or members of the evil team. If you can disable them for even one day, you can help the good team.
  • Ask other players to perform banjo duels to help hide you among the rest of town.
  • If you find an Outsider, ask them to purposely lose the banjo duel and then get them executed.
  • If there is a Psychopath you could attempt to banjo duel them, but if you lose expect to be killed with an axe.
  • You could stop banjo dueling near the end of the game, and bluff as a different character in an attempt to be the last player alive with the Demon. Sage, Farmer, and Mayor are excellent Banjoist bluffs.

Bluffing as the Banjoist

When bluffing as the Banjoist, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

  • Banjo duel every day!
  • During the last few days, stop making banjo duels, and bluff as another secretive role.

Notable Interactions

  • Fiddler: If the Demon selects the Banjoist as their Fiddler target, the Banjoist wins.
