Summary

"Each night, choose up to 3 players: they think they are mad, but are not."

The Clown convinces players that they are mad, spreading chaos andeven when they are not.

  • Usually this madness takes the form of Harpy or Cerenovus madness, but it could be caused by homebrew characters that create madness effects.

How to Run

Each night, wake the Clown. They point at up to three players. Put the Clown to sleep. Mark the chosen player(s) with the NOT MAD reminder. Later in the night wake each of these player(s) individually, show them the THIS CHARACTER SELECTED YOU info token, then a madness-causing character, then tell them how they are mad. Put that player to sleep.

Wake the NOT MAD players when a madness inducing character would normally act.

While you don't have to listen for madness breaks with the Clown, you should pretend you are!

Examples

The Clown chooses no one at night.

The Clown chooses three players. All three are told the Cerenovus made them mad as the Bounty Hunter. None of them are executed because they are not actually mad.
